A new lease of life in Bavaria
Special announcement! The ring monitoring network around nuclear facilities has now been
modernized with ENVINET's latest monitoring stations.
The remote monitoring system for nuclear reactors in Bavaria falls within the remit of the Bavarian Environment Agency (LfU), which operates a ring of automatic monitoring stations – produced by ENVINET – around each of the four existing nuclear plants. New requirements regarding data communication, technical progress and ensuring the continued safe operation of the system were the grounds for updating the existing network. Once again, the LfU is placing its trust in ENVINET products.
The previous remote monitoring system was installed in 2003, using ENVINET's AGS421 monitoring stations and NMC monitoring center software. All AGS421s have now been upgraded to state-of-the-art MIRA stations, which monitor the gamma dose rate in the environment. The compact, flexible MIRA can be configured to any environment and application. Thanks to an integrated LTE modem, MIRA supports the newest mobile radio standards, thereby ensuring future-proof operation. The reliable NMC is still at the heart of the measuring network, facilitating monitoring, configuration and detection alerts.
The old monitoring stations were phased out gradually and successfully replaced with the modern MIRA generation this year.
